Green Lake Park Restoration Project
Help us keep this beautiful and historic park open!
The continuing operation of this park depends on all of us and your donation is critical.
In 2016 this site was closed as part of governmental budget reductions. On November 2, 2023 an agreement was signed that allowed the site to open again and be operated and maintained by the Mountain Historical Society, a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization.
The land was donated by local resident A. C. Webber in 1935. The building was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937.
The goal of the Mountain Historical Society is to preserve this wonderful site for everyone who has the good fortune to visit our beautiful Chequamigon-Nicolet National Forest.
Closed in 2016 due to governmental budget reductions, Green Lake Park reopened after eight years thanks to the efforts of Mountain Historical Society, the community and volunteers on May 25, 2024.
